7.5″ Lift Completed. 5-6″ to go.

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

This customer decided to go with a Rough Country 7.5″ suspension lift and a 5-6″ body lift. The suspension lift is now completed and this rig is already sitting very high. As soon as the body lift arrives it will be even higher to accommodate for the 40″ tires.

Supra gets an upgrade

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

This set just came in for a customer. These are the Tein Flex coilovers for the 93’-98’ Supra. The Flex model is an excellent choice for a car that will see a little aggressive track time but mostly street duty. The set will be upgraded with an EDFC unit, this allows the driver to control the suspension damping from the comfort of the driver seat.

Back gas when welding

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

Part of welding is having a shielding gas to protect the welding area from atmospheric gases, such as oxygen.  Most commonly used gas in a TIG welder is argon. If you look closely at the torch used, it is made to flow argon around the welding area. When welding steel, it is nice to have gas behind the weld as well. Having gas helps promote a stronger weld as well as keeping the weld from growing on the inside of the pipe.  be Most people in this industry do not use back gas, including us most of the time. This scenario, we are making headers, and it would be best if the welds did not distort the inside of the tubing. The easiest way to back gas an object is to tape up all of the openings, and insert a regulated line from a second tank at a very low flow rate. That way the gas fills the object from the inside, and the torch provides shielding for the outside of the weld. If you are wondering, these headers are for the LS1-IS300, we will blog about building them when they get completed.

S13 coupe gets overflow can

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Here is another s13 coupe. This one is very simple, the car did not have an coolant overflow as well as having some brake light issues.  So after a little diagnostic time, the brake light issue was fixed. Instead of using a Gatorade bottle or monster can for an overflow, we ordered a nice one from summit.  It was then mounted next to the radiator and the car is finished for now.

Batlbanners

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

In the near future be prepared to see some Batlground windshield banners running around the Atlanta area. Last week we decided to bust out the sticker machine and print some banners. At the moment we have: black, red, white, and some mixed colors printed. If you would like one, contact us and we would be happy to get one for you.

Batlbunny

Monday, May 16th, 2011

Friday afternoon we heard shouting and horns coming from the street. Upon investigation we noticed that there was a little bunny trying to cross the road. With the help of a courteous driver we rescued the bunny from traffic with no harm to anyone. After work it was dropped off at the Cobb Emergency Vet, they will take care of him for approximately 4 weeks before being released into the wild.

Transmission Troubles

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Here is a Lexus SC300 that we did a v160 (supra tt 6speed) transmission swap into. He went with the v160 because it is known to hold way more power than this car would ever produce. When the customer purchased the transmission, he was told that it had low miles and no issues. It drove fine for him for about 2 years, with no major issues. Then the 3rd gear syncro went out, eventually not allowing him to use third gear anymore.  After removal and upon further inspection, this transmission has obviously been apart before. We replaced third gear, as well as any other parts that looked worn, and could potentially cause more problems.
