This GC8 already stands out quite a bit with it’s flat Blue paint and widebody kit. The fact that Kevin has decided to drop in a flat six cylinder engine from a SVX (known as Alcyone SVX in Japan) will set it apart from the crowd completely. The Subaru SVX came from the factory with this EG33 which was basically Subaru’s EJ22 4 cylinder motor stretched out to have 6 cylinders, making this new engine a total of 3318cc. The car will remain N/A for this leg of the project, although Kevin does have plans for a turbo setup in the future.

We removed this rear factory diff and shipped it off to Shep Trans. Once it arrived they fully rebuilt this unit with beefier components during their 12 plate upgrade. When it came back we used a Torque Solutions polyurethane bushing kit to eliminate flexing, provide better feedback and a sharper response without any unwanted slop. We complimented this install with a Perrin rear sway bar with extremely stout mounts and end links. This setup will be competent to handle the projected 700-750WHP.

Today we have installed a Full Blown Twin Fuel Pump into Kevin’s Evo 8 MR. Kevin would like to run E85 fuel and that requires a large flow increase over stock. To get started the old pump, gasket, fuel lines, injectors & o-rings were removed. We replaced the stock lines and fittings with full stainless lines, a -8 inlet and -6 return. Twin Walbro 255 pumps in conjunction a set of with Injector Dynamics 2200cc injectors finish it off. This fuel system would be adequate for a 1000 HP setup and will be more than enough for this project as our goal is around 800 AWHP.

Let’s face it, the MKIV Supra didn’t come out last year and these classics sometimes need a little help to keep up with the times. We are replacing the well used Alpine CD player in this one with a much needed upgrade. With features such as direct control for iPod and HD Radio the new Pioneer CD RDS unit is far superior to the 10+ year old aftermarket head unit that was previously installed. We shudder to think some of these vehicles are probably still rockin’ the giant CD/Tape combo units.

This is a Boost Logic T6 front mount intercooler for Josh’s widebody Supra project. After the previous Greddy 4 row intercooler was damaged and found to be discontinued, it seemed like a great time to get this massive replacement. This is the largest one available for the MKIV without cutting of the frame or bumper supports and the sheer size is impressive. The core size is 5″ deep, 27 1/2″ wide & 13″ tall and capable of supporting over 1500 RWHP. This is a BIG piece to a fast puzzle.

As you may have read in one of our previous posts, this owner just picked up his 13. Now he is ready for some improvements. We sat down with Anthony and came up with a plan. A larger 5130 Precision Turbo, Tomei Procams, Brian Crower valve springs and retainers were ordered, now it’s time for the install. After the install is complete the 240 will be traveling a whole 10 feet to our dyno for a fresh tune. A previously instated Apexi Power FC will be handling the engine management duties. We can’t wait to see the final results.
