This is Global Time Attack! An event that features all types of cars and drivers with different levels of performance and experience. The Time Attack events focus on getting the fastest lap time in each class and they have a class for everyone and most any car. The most recent event was last weekend at Road Atlanta during Formula Drift with over 15,000 fans looking on. Our newest intern, Brandon Connelly competed unopposed in the Synergy Turbo AWD True Street Class, thank you Patrick at Synergy Turbo for all your help and support! Brandon did very well for his first on a race track with his lowest lap time of 2.04 in his mostly stock Evo 8. The GTA organization will have more events this year that promises to pay out $10,000 to the class winners! Check out their website here for more info.

It’s the Global Time Attack series created for the enthusiast racer with a factory turbocharged vehicle (turbo in stock location) and they have AWD, RWD, and FWD classes. For the novice driver they also have a street car class that runs street tires. The object of the event is to get the best single lap time. Snergy Turbos even offer their Synergy Turbo True Street Class Contingency Award for this class, get more info here. Catch all the GTA(Global Time Attack) action along with Formula D on May 11th & 12th at Road Atlanta.

This Saturday the 24th will be the S2 Drift in the upper lot. Over 50 drifters are registered to run in single and tandem groups. Sunday will bring the SCCA Atlanta Region back to the lower lot for their Points 2 Autocross competition. They will have the usual assortment of classes ranging from stock vehicles all the way up to full blown track cars. Spectators get in to S2 Drift for $10 and as always admission to the SCCA event will be free.

After the previous Greddy 4 row intercooler was damaged and found to be discontinued, it seemed like a great time to get this massive replacement. This is the largest one available for the MKIV without cutting of the frame or bumper supports and the sheer size is impressive. The core size is 5″ deep, 27 1/2″ wide & 13″ tall and capable of supporting over 1500 RWHP. This is a BIG piece to a fast puzzle.

All of the parts have arrived for our twin turbo LSX project and our bare block is back from the machine shop. Now the task of file fitting the rings and verifying that all of the machine work is in spec begins. Next up we will be using Plastiqage to measure the crank shaft bearings for proper clearance.
