MAPerformance 4G63 Exhaust Manifold Flange

This is a flange that we ordered from MAPerformance. This flange is for 4G63 head. A couple of interesting features make this flange stand out from the competition. First it has grooves to center the manifold runners over the exhaust ports. It also has CNC transitions to match the oval ports to the 1.5″ round runners we have chosen. This flange is usually used with their full Evo 8-9 manifold, but because this 4G is going into an IS300 sideways, we will have to fabricate our own manifold.

Evo 8 Rear Differential Improvement

We removed this rear factory diff and shipped it off to Shep Trans. Once it arrived they fully rebuilt this unit with beefier components during their 12 plate upgrade. When it came back we used a Torque Solutions polyurethane bushing kit to eliminate flexing, provide better feedback and a sharper response without any unwanted slop. We complimented this install with a Perrin rear sway bar with extremely stout mounts and end links. This setup will be competent to handle the projected 700-750WHP.

Pandora To Go

Let’s face it, the MKIV Supra didn’t come out last year and these classics sometimes need a little help to keep up with the times. We are replacing the well used Alpine CD player in this one with a much needed upgrade. With features such as direct control for iPod and HD Radio the new Pioneer CD RDS unit is far superior to the 10+ year old aftermarket head unit that was previously installed. We shudder to think some of these vehicles are probably still rockin’ the giant CD/Tape combo units.

Another One Bites The Dust

Installation of a specialty clutch can be tricky. With fragile internal pieces such as the carbon fiber discs, you must take extreme caution. Make sure the transmission shaft has plenty of clearance to slide by these pieces or (as another shop has proven here) damage like this will occur. Expensive!

Carbon Fiber is Not Just for Show

This is the Exedy Hyper Series Carbon-R Clutch containing full carbon fiber discs. With a maximum torque rating of 760ftlbs and a super lightweight design, this should be an excellent clutch choice for a newly commissioned project. Stay tuned for more info.

S-13 in for some upgrades

As you may have read in one of our previous posts, this owner just picked up his 13. Now he is ready for some improvements. We sat down with Anthony and came up with a plan. A larger 5130 Precision Turbo, Tomei Procams, Brian Crower valve springs and retainers were ordered, now it’s time for the install. After the install is complete the 240 will be traveling a whole 10 feet to our dyno for a fresh tune. A previously instated Apexi Power FC will be handling the engine management duties. We can’t wait to see the final results.

Stroker V8 Project Moving Along

Every clearance has been verified on the bottom end of our stroker V8 project. Next we will be installing the oil pan and then we can flip it over for the cam install. We had our friends at Comp Cams custom grind out a new cam per our specifications. This was necessary because currently there is not a cam available to meet our needs on this build.

Custom Seat Brackets

An aspect commonly over looked is driver seating position. Off-the-shelf brackets will mount your new seats but will they be comfortable, in the safest position or provide the best view possible? Batlground offers custom seat brackets for most any car, seat and customer position preference. Yesterday if you guessed twin turbo V8, you’d be right! We are still working closely with the customer on this setup so a lot of the supporting goodies have not been finalized yet. Watch for updates as this project develops.
