It’s the Global Time Attack series created for the enthusiast racer with a factory turbocharged vehicle (turbo in stock location) and they have AWD, RWD, and FWD classes. For the novice driver they also have a street car class that runs street tires. The object of the event is to get the best single lap time. Snergy Turbos even offer their Synergy Turbo True Street Class Contingency Award for this class, get more info here. Catch all the GTA(Global Time Attack) action along with Formula D on May 11th & 12th at Road Atlanta.

This Saturday the 24th will be the S2 Drift in the upper lot. Over 50 drifters are registered to run in single and tandem groups. Sunday will bring the SCCA Atlanta Region back to the lower lot for their Points 2 Autocross competition. They will have the usual assortment of classes ranging from stock vehicles all the way up to full blown track cars. Spectators get in to S2 Drift for $10 and as always admission to the SCCA event will be free.

Now he is ready for some improvements. We sat down with Anthony and came up with a plan. A larger 5130 Precision Turbo, Tomei Procams, Brian Crower valve springs and retainers were ordered, now it’s time for the install. After the install is complete the 240 will be traveling a whole 10 feet to our dyno for a fresh tune. A previously instated Apexi Power FC will be handling the engine management duties. We can’t wait to see the final results.

We managed to find more weight that could be removed from our IS300 drift project. The hood weighed in at 35lbs before modifications, after cutting out the inner shell 10lbs was shaved from the nose of the car.  It does not sound like much, but after doing this on multiple parts of the car, the overall weight can be reduced greatly.  After removing the skeleton of the hood we ran into issues about how to hold the hood up.  Our solution was to modify the hinges so that the hood now lays nicely on the windshield providing full access to the engine bay.
