Looking for a few good interns

Friday, June 24th, 2011

Due to the overwhelming success of this years Batlground Motorsports intern program, we have decided to expand. We will be inviting a couple more eager students to join us.

Our interns are not afraid of a little hard work rewarded with learning something new. We strive to provide a give and take environment where both the student and teacher are helping each other to accomplish a common goal.

Here at Batlground we deal with a wide array of different makes and models of vehicles, did you think we only built import projects? Think again, there is a huge force of American muscle with modern LS basedV8 projects coming in all the time. Not to mention our own LS6 powered drift car. Between overseeing the work our techs do to our customer cars or getting some hands on experience with Batlground’s own stable of vehicles, there is never a dull moment.

Our current interns have also enjoyed racing with us. This years Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross season has proved to be a valuable experience, with several of our own constantly improving their lap times. Want to learn by doing? We encourage everyone to join us for all of the Autocross action.

If you are interested in becoming part of the automotive industry, are currently enrolled in an automotive or motorcycle program or just have some extra time to spend doing what you love, please send us a resume. Please send all resumes to us at Batlground@gmail.com for review. Don’t worry if you do not currently have a full resume, we just want to get an idea of your background and interests, please send pics as well. Pics of past, present or future projects are always helpful.

At the moment we have: black, red, white, and some mixed colors printed. If you would like one, contact us and we would be happy to get one for you.

Batlground Orange Nissan S14 240sx Sr20DET Drift Car Drivetrain is For Sale

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

That’s right, the time has come to put the new power plant into the Orange Nissan S14 240sx.  The Sr20det drive train has been our proven power plant for years.  We have learned as much as we possibly can with this setup.  It revs to 10,000 rpm and makes 475 horsepower to the wheels and spools up faster than you can imagine.   I want to sell the whole setup together as one unit.  If that doesn’t work out I may part it out but I really really don’t want to do that.  Here is a rundown of what is included in the sale.  I am not going to beat around the bush and put a higher price so $11,000 cash takes it.  This is an incredible deal and is a turn key drive train.  It comes with everything, the pre tuned AEM EMS with more hours of tuning than I can remember.  Everything is dialed in and ready to rock.  The amount of time and money put into this drive train is way more than I am asking and I am sure it will find a new home very soon.

World of Wheels car show is this weekend in Atlanta

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Hey everyone this weekend is the 2011 World of Wheels car show in Atlanta, GA.  Batlground will have its 2011 Ford Fiesta Autorcross car on display in the NOS booth thanks to some fast acting by Sam Russo and Abby Cain.  Here is a spy shot of the car at the show and we hope to see you all there this weekend.  We will be there handing out flyers, talking about the Fiesta and about the work we do at Batlground.

Nissan Silvia/240sx Sr20DET chip tuning now available at Batlground

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Thats right, you read it right we are now offering Nissan Silvia / 240sx SR20DET chip tuning at Batlground.  We have added this service as an alternative to the Nistune, Jim Wolf ecu, Secret Services, Enthalpy, Power FC and AEM EMS options.  It is a cheaper option than buying an Apexi SAFC and getting it installed and tuned.  Most cars can be out the door for $650 which includes custom tuning on the dyno unlike the “other guys”.  If you already have a chipped SR20DET ecu you can look inside to see if you have a board with 2 chips.  Take a look at the pictures in this post to see if your chips look like that.  If they do then we can most likely reprogram your chipped ecu and tune it on the dyno for $450.  Every car is different but for the most part these prices are accurate.  Give us a call if you have any questions and get your car running right before the 2011 drifting season starts.

Ahh, We can breathe… Finally back from SEMA 2010

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Well it was quite the adventure to get to the 2010 SEMA show in Las Vegas with our Ford Fiesta project vehicle.  We only had a few short weeks to complete the vehicle and transport it out to Nevada for the show.  After final assembly and installing the vinyl graphics package we only had 48 hours to spare before the car was needed to be handed over to Ford at the show.  We packed the trailer and took off to Vegas, 36 hours later we were there and we enjoyed a much earned nights sleep before the load in day.  The car was placed at the point position in the entrance to the ride and drive area.  This was a prime spot at the show and this is where a large majority of the traffic would be taking place over the week.  This area was also home to the GAS display, the CORE racing truck demonstration, the Ford Raptor ride and Drive, the Mustang ride and drive, the Ken Block Fiesta demo and the Vaugn Gitten Jr. Mustang demo.  We were very pleased to work with Ford on this project and we look forward to what the 2011 SEMA show brings us.  Keep an eye out for the Batlground Ford Fiesta at numerous motorsports events around the Southeast United States during the 2011 season.  Check out facebook.com/batlground to keep up on all the daily news.

Back to the grind, Jamaica to Las Vegas.

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Daniel Willie just got back from his trip from Jamaica and it was another great success for Batlground.  Daniel was exploring business oppurtunites in Jamaica related to importing and exporting used automobile parts but he found some time to get a little tuning in.  Here is one of the cars that he did.  This car was an ultra clean EK Honda Civic with a fully built b20 bottom end and b16 head.  The head was ported and polished with Skunk2 pro 2 cams and the compression ratio was 12.5:1.  The tune was very challenging due to the lack of 93  octane gas in Jamaica, 90 octane is the highest that is available.  Because of this Daniel had to play with the cam gear timing to allow the peak cylinder pressure to drop low enough to prevent detonation.  After it was all said and done the car made 242 hp and 160 foot pounds of torque.  Not too shabby for 90 octane.  You can look at the before and after dyno charts to see how much smoother my tuning is compared to the last tuner who touched the car.  Check out the pics and Daniel’s facebook page at www.facebook.com/batldan for all the pictures of Jamaica.  Also be sure to check out the Batlground fan page at www.facebook.com/batlground to keep up with all the Batlground business activities.

Bumbaclot!!! Jamaica Here I come.

Friday, September 24th, 2010

So after a long hiatus  I, Daniel Willie, am finally returning to Jamaica for 12 days.  I will be staying for 2 weekends and will be doing some tuning on customer cars while I am there as well as setting up my car importing business to Jamaica.  There will be 2 rally races going on so I will be pushing to find a loaner car that I can drive in addition to helping a few teams out with setting up their cars.  The first time I went to Jamaica I didn’t have a car to drive so I wanted to do something about it this time.  I have decided to ship cars directly from Japan to Jamaica and resell them there.  With a limited supply of cars being brought into Jamaica it looks like it will be a good business move for me and Batlground.  I will also be importing older race cars to Jamaica from Japan and the USA that will be used by me and my team to rally race.  I figured this was a good reason for me to start making regular trips to Jamaica to tune and have fun.  Might as well mix a little business with pleasure while I am there.

Batlground’s new street car will be here soon!

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Over the past few weeks Daniel Willie, the sole owner of Batlground Motorsports LLC, has been toying with the idea of getting a new street car.  Having non street legal race cars is great and all, but having fun on the streets has always been one of Dan’s passions.  In addition to that, driving a Chevrolet 3500 dually pickup truck out to dinner just inst exciting enough for him anymore.  After much deliberation and looking around to find the right one, a car has finally found its way into his hands.  Call it divine fate, luck or just wanting a new car at the same time a friend needed some assistance, it was the right deal at the right time.  Stay tuned to see what it is and try and catch up with Dan back out on the streets having fun.
